D. Kojo Hamilton, MD, MBA

D. Kojo Hamilton, MD, MBA, is a professor of neurological surgery and a recognized leader in the treatment of scoliosis, adult spinal deformity, and spine trauma. He is board certified in neurological surgery, a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and a member of the Society of Neurological Surgeons and the Scoliosis Research Society.

Dr. Hamilton earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry with high honors from the University of Maryland, College Park, and received his medical degree and neurosurgical residency training at the University of Virginia. He completed a combined neurosurgical and orthopaedic AO Spine fellowship in complex spine, spinal deformity, scoliosis, and spine surgical oncology, along with subspecialty cranial training at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand.

A committed educator and mentor, Dr. Hamilton has led residency and spine fellowship training programs, serves on the AO Spine North America Fellowship Committee, and has been honored twice with the Department of Neurological Surgery Faculty Teaching Award. As Co-Director of SCOLI, he helps guide the institute's computational and outcomes-driven approach to spine care.
